When visiting Sussex Inlet there really is something for everyone. We're pleased to provide you with some of our local events to keep you entertained whilst visiting our area.

Year Round

Markets - 2nd Saturday of every Month. Situated within the Uniting Church and grounds, Jacobs Drive

January

Duck Dash - Held on 1st weekend of January. Situated at the end of Jacobs Drive

Australia Day - Held on 26th January every year. The local Men's Shed provide a fantastic fun filled family day with stalls, games and activities. Held at Thomson Street 

February

Choppers for Charity - This fun filled event runs over three days. 
Friday there will be Bare Foot Bowls held at the Sussex Inlet RSL Club with a sausage sizzle for lunch. Saturday is an entire day dedicated to golf.  Sunday is the day to be there! Variety stalls kick off the morning then at 11am there is a street parade with motorbikes, cars and even band mascots, at 11.30am the CareFlight helicopter arrives and then at midday the Dragon Boats take off. All proceeds of events go towards continuing the lifesaving work of CareFlight. Latest event details are yet to be confirmed.

April

Charity Car Show - See many cars from the Ford Performance Vehicle Club, The Holden Special Vehicle Club of Canberra, Mustang Club, Monaro Club and more. On the lawn in front of the Bowling Club you can view all of your ‘dream’ cars.

May

RSL Annual Fireworks and Lion Dancers - Event includes a Chinese buffet, prizes and the Sydney Lion dancers showing you their dragon feats in the auditorium and around the Club. Fireworks and live entertainment provide a wonderful night for the whole family.

B.R.O.E Fishing Competition - Stands for Beach, Rock, Ocean and Estuary so if you love your fishing and want to get amongst the $5000 cash and prizes put your name down in the Tab room at the Bowling club. Mystery weights as well as largest targets species. Entry includes lunch both days. Both adults and juniors welcome.

Sussex Inlet Annual Fishing Competition - The Sussex Inlet Annual Family Fishing Carnival is a fishing competition in which all the family can participate in, with over $30,000 in valuable prizes including cash to be won. The emphasis is on children enjoying the joys of fishing in a family atmosphere. Competitors can fish from the river bank, a boat, inside the basin or out in the ocean or off the rocks. This event is the longest running event of its type in Australia.
A presentation night is held on the night after the competition finishes. The Carnival is sponsored by many local businesses of Sussex Inlet and the Shoalhaven City Council Tourism Board.

October

Lions Park Annual Country Fair - The Lions Country Fair is held on the Saturday of the October long weekend each year. Free admission great family day. There will be carnival rides, delicious food stalls, amusement and entertainment for all! 
Navy Helicopter Rescue display, Ambulance and Bush Fire Brigade displays will be a major attraction for children and those interested in joining the Navy or becoming a Paramedic. Marine Services traffic control will be on standby. Sussex Inlet Dragon Boat Club will also have a display

November

Flatty Classic - Honesty based catch and release competition. Target species Dusky Flathead. Lunch provided after a great day spent on the water trying to land that once in a lifetime fish.
